Dengue & Papaya leaves: May be DANGEROUS

Posted: 18 Sep 2010 08:19 PM PDT

Dengue & Papaya leaves: May be DANGEROUS

Many of my patients of dengue are following this advice available on internet social websites:

Take raw papaya leaves, 2pcs just cleaned and pound and squeeze with filter cloth. You will only get one tablespoon per leaf. So two tablespoon per serving once a day. Do not boil or cook or rinse with hot water, it will loose its strength. Only the leafy part and no stem or sap.
It is very bitter and you have to swallow it like Won Low.Kat. But it works.

After careful monitoring of Platelets I have come to this conclusion

We Doctors know the natural history of dengue fever & the Platelet response in simple Dengue fever, DHF & DSS.

1.In Dengue fever Platelets continue to fall during initial 4-5 days, irrespective of papaya leave intake. Infact Two of my patients landed up in ICU Needing platelet transfusions, all had started papaya on day 1or 2 of illness.

2.After few days in Dengue , platelets increase dramatically automatically. if one starts above treatment on 4-5 days results shall be spectacular.

3. Papaya leaves are very bitter, lead to gastritis, vomiting , reduced oral intake & making patient prone to
LOW BP & DENGUE SHOCK SYNDROME

Exact chemical composition of extract is not known, it may have toxins, as in bitter LAUKI JUICE, remember ICMR SCIENTIST

One should take natural products in natural way only. we eat papaya as fruit naturally. it is not natural to take leave extract.

Dengue & Papaya leaves: May be DANGEROUS
